Our Story
From a simple idea to Jamaica's premier event discovery platform
The idea for Wagwaan was born during a conversation between friends who struggled to find authentic Jamaican events and experiences. Despite Jamaica's rich cultural calendar - from street festivals and reggae concerts to art exhibitions and food markets - there was no central place to discover what was happening across our beautiful island.
Our founder, drawing from extensive experience and a deep love for Jamaican culture, envisioned a platform that would bridge this gap. The vision was to create something that would not only help locals stay connected to their community's events but also give visitors authentic access to Jamaica's vibrant cultural scene.
Today, Wagwaan serves as the digital heartbeat of Jamaica's event ecosystem. We've partnered with event organizers across all 14 parishes, connecting communities through authentic cultural experiences. Our platform celebrates the diversity of Jamaican culture while making it accessible to everyone.
